Mumbai, April 29 -- The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved a series of key policy decisions aimed at boosting technology, sustainability, education, and social welfare across the state.

In a major step into the world of artificial intelligence, the government has unveiled the Maharashtra Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy 2026. The policy envisions investments exceeding rupees 10,000 crore and the creation of around 1.5 lakh jobs. To ensure balanced growth of AI opportunities, six AI Centres of Excellence and five AI Innovation Cities will be established, with a strong focus on building robust AI infrastructure.
