Mumbai, March 18 -- In a significant revision to the Right to Education (RTE) Act admission process, major changes have been introduced for 25 per cent reserved seats in private unaided schools, with the deadline for submitting online applications now extended to March 25. Parents will also now be able to select schools located within a distance range of 3 to 5 kilometres, expanding their options considerably.

The changes follow directions issued by the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court, which relaxed the earlier distance restriction of 1 kilometre.
