Bhubaneswar, Aug. 1 -- The Mahanadi river water dispute has once again triggered a political row in Odisha, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressing hope of an early breakthrough after a tripartite meeting in New Delhi, while the Opposition BJD accused the BJP government of keeping the discussions under wraps and failing to adequately defend the state's interests.
The ruling BJP countered by accusing the previous BJD government of allowing the dispute to intensify.
Addressing the media here after returning from a three-day visit to New Delhi, Majhi said his participation in the July 30 meeting on the Mahanadi dispute was crucial for protecting Odisha's interests.
