Mumbai, July 5 -- The flight operations at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport were disrupted for about an hour today morning due to heavy rain and strong winds.

At 10:17 am, runway operations were temporarily suspended after winds reached up to 42 knots and visibility dropped because of continuous rainfall.

The decision was taken to ensure the safety of passengers, aircraft and ground staff.

Normal operations resumed at 11:17 am once weather conditions improved. The suspension lasted for 60 minutes.
