Kalyan, June 12 -- : Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has directed the Transport Commissioner to take action against app-based taxi and ride-hailing companies following complaints that passengers are being pressured to pay tips and additional charges.
The move comes after Shrikant Eknath Shinde raised the issue and sought immediate government intervention.
Over the past few days, several passengers have complained that drivers using app-based taxi platforms were demanding extra tips or payments after accepting rides. In many cases, rides were allegedly cancelled or passengers were subjected to inconvenience and harassment when such demands were not met.
