Mumbai, May 26 -- In a major boost to the infrastructure and security of the Siddhivinayak Temple, Mumbai's iconic spiritual landmark, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday performed the ground-breaking ceremony (Bhoomi Pujan) for the first phase of the ambitious Rs 500-crore Temple development plan.

The initial phase, being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 78 crore, focuses primarily on upgrading devotee amenities and heavily fortifying the high-security grid of the world-famous shrine.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasized that the Mahayuti government remains stringently committed to the safety and comfort of millions of devotees visiting from across the globe.
