Mumbai, July 31 -- Even as Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange announced a fresh agitation from August 29, Maharashtra Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said the government is taking concrete steps to address the community's demands and expressed confidence that there would be no need for another protest.
Jarange recently accused the government of misleading the Maratha community and declared that he would resume his agitation if pending demands were not fulfilled.
His announcement prompted the government to review the status of measures related to the Maratha reservation issue.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Vikhe Patil highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the state government.
