Kolhapur, Aug. 5 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today visited the residence of Dr D Y Patil and paid tributes to the late leader who passed away yesterday at age 90.
Shinde, who arrived here by special plane from Mumbai, left from the Ujalaiwadi airport for Dr Patil's residence 'Yashwant' at Kasba Bawda, a suburb of the city. He offered floral tributes at the body of Dr Patil.
He addressed the media to express his profound grief over the loss of the visionary leader.
The Deputy CM also met the family members of the late leader to comfort them and offer his condolences. He met DY Patil Group chairman Sanjay Patil, the eldest son of the late DY Patil, and also met former minister and MLC Satej Patil, the younger son.
