Ch. Sambhajinagar (MH), Sept. 16 -- In a crackdown on illegal liquor sale, the State Excise Department has secured conviction of 122 dhaba operators in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.
The convictions were part of Operation Prahar, an initiative launched in April this year against illegal dhaba operators and illicit liquor trade.
Official data reveals that between April and August, the department registered 475 cases and arrested 844 people. Goods valued at more than Rs 28 lakh were seized during this five-month period. The recent Lok Adalat, held on September 13 through the District Legal Service Centre, proved to be highly productive for the department.
