Akola, June 26 -- : A 40-year-old in-charge headmaster of a private Urdu primary school in Maharashtra's Akola district allegedly died by suicide on the school premises, leaving behind a two-page note blaming school officials for alleged mental harassment and mounting pressure, police said on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Abdul Jameer Abdul Bashir, was found hanging on the school campus on Thursday.

Based on the contents of the alleged suicide note and a complaint lodged by Bashir's brother, Khadan police have registered a case against the school's chairman, a suspended headmaster and another teacher for allegedly abetting the harassment that drove him to the extreme step, police said.
