Amravati, Nov. 28 -- Two teachers were killed and four others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between two cars on the Amravati-Mardi road, police said.

The deceased were identified as Vasanti Anil Sarode (50) of Jijau Colony, Arjun Nagar, and Pankaj Khushalrao Meshram (36) of Pravin Residency, Tapovan. Both were Zilla Parishad school teachers in Arvi taluka and were returning to Amravati after school hours.

According to police, their car collided with another vehicle coming from the Amravati side near Saint Achyut Maharaj Heart Hospital on a curve late Thursday. One of the vehicles overturned due to the impact.
