Yavatmal, Aug. 15 -- : Two pharmacy students drowned in the Borgaon dam reservoir near Yavatmal while on a monsoon outing with their classmates, casting a pall of gloom over the district on the eve of Independence Day, police said on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Amrita Ashok Khedkar(20), a resident of opposite Mahatma Phule College, Dhamangaon Road and Mohini Gautre(20), resident of Bosa Road, both students of Wadhwani College of Pharmacy in Yavatmal.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 4 pm on Friday when the two students had gone to the dam area along with some classmates to enjoy the monsoon scenery.
