Gadchiroli, Aug. 10 -- : Three tribal girl students died and three others were seriously injured after allegedly being bitten by a snake at a government-run ashram school in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district, officials said on Monday.
The incident occurred around midnight on Sunday at the residential ashram school hostel in Japtalai in Dhanora taluka, where the students were sleeping after dinner.
The girls reportedly complained of discomfort around 2 to 2:30 am after allegedly being bitten by a snake and were subsequently rushed to hospital for treatment.
Two students , Dipika Lakda, a Class VI student and Sushmita Mandal, a Class VIII student , died while undergoing treatment at Dhanora Hospital.
