Mumbai, April 11 -- A devastating fire triggered by multiple LPG cylinder explosions claimed three lives in a densely populated slum cluster in Mira-Bhayander township of neighbouring Thane district, with flames rapidly engulfing dozens of huts and causing widespread destruction.
According to officials, the blaze broke out at around 8.30 PM on Friday evening in the Navghar area's Indralok slum colony.
Chief Fire Officer Prakash Borade of the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation stated that the fire spread swiftly through closely packed makeshift huts constructed from thatch and cloth, making containment difficult in the initial stages.
