Kolhapur, June 20 -- Shetkari Sanghatana leader Raghunathdada Patil and Anti Shaktipeeth Highway Sangharsh Samiti president Digambar Kamble have been kept under house arrest by the police since Thursday in neighbouring Sangli district, as a precautionary measure for union Home Minister Amit Shah's two-day visit to Kolhapur.

The police are on alert to ensure that no agitations or other objectionable activities take place during his visit. Against this backdrop, farmer leader Raghunathdada Patil has been placed under house arrest.
