Mumbai, June 12 -- Sharad Pawar-led NCP Maharashtra state president Shashikant Shinde today rejected and denied any move for the merger of his party with the Congress, after senior Congress leader Nana Patole said earlier in the day that the proposal to merge had come from NCP founder Sharad Pawar himself.

However, there has been no reaction from NCP founder Sharad Pawar himself so far.

"There has never been any merger proposal from the Congress. If there had been a proposal, information would have been given by the senior leadership.
