Pune, July 23 -- The Republican Party of India (Athawale) today demanded that any decision on sub-classification among Scheduled Castes be taken only after the completion of the national caste census and publication of accurate population data.
The party has announced a grand protest march on July 27, starting from the statue of Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar near the District Collectorate office in Pune.
The announcement was made at a press conference by RPI (Athawale) Pune city president Sanjay Sonawane, Pune Deputy Mayor Parshuram Wadekar and state secretary Balasaheb Janrao.
