Mumbai, June 9 -- Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA, Rohit Pawar, today launched a scathing attack on the central and state governments, accusing them of curtailing benefits for welfare scheme beneficiaries following the conclusion of recent elections.

In a post on social media, the MLA alleged that the number of subsidized gas cylinders provided under the Centre's widely publicised Ujjwala scheme has been progressively reduced-first from 12 to 9 and subsequently to four.

Expressing scepticism over the government's long-term commitment to such initiatives, Rohit Pawar remarked that it would not be a surprise if the scheme was eventually discontinued entirely.
