Pune, March 1 -- The Pune Traffic Police have launched strict action against motorists who have failed to pay pending traffic fines.
Officials have warned that if fines are not cleared within 30 days, a proposal to cancel the vehicle owner's driving licence will be sent to the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
The department has appealed citizens to pay their pending fines directly to traffic personnel stationed at major junctions for enforcement of traffic rules.
Vehicle owners who have outstanding penalties will be issued notices regarding possible suspension or cancellation of their driving licences.
