Nashik, May 3 -- Taking a significant action in the city's high-profile MHADA land scam case, the police today arrested Deputy Tehsildar Nitin Patil on charges of allegedly manipulating records using forged documents in 31 out of the 49 cases involved in this scam.
A team of the Crime Branch arrested Patil from his residence.
Patil currently serves as a Deputy Tehsildar (Administration) at the Nashik District Collector's Office.
Action was initiated against him amidst rumours circulating regarding his alleged involvement in manipulating records within the MHADA land scam.
Meanwhile, upon being produced in court, Patil was remanded to police custody for three days.
