Mumbai, May 17 -- A joint meeting of the central executive committee of the Nationalist Congress Party is scheduled to take place in Mumbai next week amid growing political discussions over the absence of senior leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare from key organisational responsibilities in the party's newly submitted executive list.

According to party sources, Patel and Tatkare have contacted General Secretary Parth Pawar and Treasurer Jay Pawar regarding the proposed meeting.
