Mumbai, May 16 -- Expressing deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar today alleged that Maharashtra is becoming the most unsafe state for women after Uttar Pradesh and demanded for immediate implementation of the stringent 'Shakti Act'.
Highlighting alarming statistics, he stated that an assault on a woman occurs every hour in the state and Maharashtra now ranks first in the country in cases of women's abduction.
