Pune/ Mumbai, May 27 -- Launching a scathing attack on the state's Criminal Investigation Department (CID), NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar today termed the premier state agency as 'a useless and dysfunctional burden', while urging Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to personally intervene in the high-profile accidental death case of his uncle and NCP (AP) founder president Ajit Pawar.

He expressed deep dissatisfaction over the ongoing CID probe into the fatal aircraft crash that claimed the life of Ajit Pawar in Baramati in January. Following the state police's initial failure to register a case, Rohit Pawar had travelled to neighboring Karnataka to file a 'Zero FIR', which was subsequently transferred to Maharashtra. ...
