Nagpur, July 28 -- : The Nagpur district administration has announced a holiday for all schools, colleges, anganwadis and coaching institutes across the district on July 29 following the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) Red Alert forecasting extremely heavy rainfall.
The order was issued by Nagpur District Collector and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, Kumar Ashirwad, after the IMD predicted very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the district between July 28 and July 30.
Nagpur witnessed intense showers on Tuesday, with more than 108 mm of rain recorded within a few hours, resulting in widespread waterlogging and disruption in several parts of the city.
