Mumbai, June 16 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today once again delayed Mumbai's forecast for onset of the rainy season, predicting that the Southwest Monsoon will reach Mumbai by June 25.
However, private forecaster Skymet has warned of a possible further delay.
Skymet President GP Sharma here said there are no good signs for the monsoon to advance from the western front, and it could take another 10 days to arrive in Mumbai.
The prolonged delay has intensified concerns over falling reservoir levels, water management and the risk of the city recording one of its driest Junes in decades.
