Yavatmal, July 31 -- : A woman and her two young daughters died after the car they were travelling in was swept away by strong floodwaters amid heavy rainfall in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, officials said on Friday.
The incident occurred late Thursday night when the family was travelling in an Ertiga car. The vehicle was caught in the powerful flow of floodwater and was swept away.
The woman's husband, Avinash Khandare ,who was also travelling in the car, managed to survive, while the woman and their two daughters were washed away, police said.
Madhavi Khandare (42), Sachi Khandare (17) and Prachi Khandare (11) died in the incident.
