Akola, May 30 -- Maharashtra Minister for Soil and Water Conservation Sanjay Rathod has come under criticism for allegedly disregarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to conserve fuel, after travelling by aircraft and helicopter and moving with a convoy of over 20 vehicles during an official visit to Pohradevi in Washim district.

The criticism comes against the backdrop of concerns over a possible fuel shortage linked to tensions in Persian Gulf.

It must be mentioned here that PM Modi had recently appealed to ministers, political leaders and citizens to minimise fuel consumption and reduce unnecessary travel and convoy sizes.
