Pune, Aug. 31 -- Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil has appealed to all public Ganesh mandals in Pune to celebrate the upcoming Ganeshotsav adhering to the law and avoiding the use of DJs and laser beams, keeping in mind the health and well-being of citizens. The festival kicks off on September 14.
In a statement addressed to Pune residents, Patil mentioned that Ganeshotsav is not merely a religious festival but also a social and cultural celebration. While preserving its spirit of devotion, faith and sanctity, it is equally important to ensure that the health of citizens is not adversely affected, he said.
