Mumbai, April 10 -- A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court in the neighbouring Thane city today remanded notorious gangster Ravi Pujari to police custody for 10 days for his involment in a serious crime registered at the Ulhasnagar Central Police Station.

Pujari, who is in the custody of Thane Crime Branch, was today officially arrested in Ulhasnagar case.

He faces a staggering legal battle, with approximately 44 serious criminal cases registered against him across India.

The gangster, who had been a fugitive for years, was the subject of a Red Corner Notice issued to facilitate his international arrest.
