Mumbai, June 1 -- The ruling Mahayuti alliance parties, namely the BJP, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena as well as the Sunnetra Ajit Pawar-led NCP, here today announced their seat-sharing formula for 17 legislative council (Vidhan Parishad) seats.
According to the formula, the BJP will contest 11 seats, the Shinde-led Sena will contest 4 seats, and the Sunetra Ajit Pawar-led NCP will contest from 2 seats.
The 17 seats will be elected by members of local bodies across 26 districts on June 18. The ruling Mahayuti, which won over 65 per cent of the seats in urban and rural local body elections between December 2025 and February this year, enjoys a dominant position in the Council elections as well.
