Nagpur, May 9 -- The LPG Distributors Association (India) has filed a petition before the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court challenging the mandatory Delivery Authentication Code (DAC/OTP) requirement for domestic LPG cylinder deliveries.
The petition was heard by a division bench of Justices Anil Kilore and Raj Wakode.
According to the petition, DAC was not mandatory for cylinder delivery earlier.
However, citing the West Asian conflict and complaints of black-marketing, oil companies gradually tightened the requirement , initially for 50 per cent of deliveries, later increasing it to 95 per cent, and eventually making it 100 per cent mandatory through a WhatsApp communication issued on April 4, 2026.
