Satara, Sept. 5 -- Koyana dam, one of the largest dams in Maharashtra situated in Koyananagar of the district, filled to its total capacity at 10 pm tonight and its two curved gates were opened by 1 foot to discharge 3,182 cusecs of water into the Koyna riverbed.
One unit of Koyna Dam Piththa Power House is operational and 1,050 cusecs of discharge is being made through it. Thus, a total of 4,232 cusecs of water will be discharged in Koyna river.
Also, discharge from the sewer can be increased depending on the amount of rainfall and inflow of water.
