Mumbai, June 25 -- The National and the State Human Rights Commissions have taken cognizance of the case of death of protester Vijay Ghogre during the Maratha reservation movement.
A complaint was filed before both the National Human Rights Commission and State Human Rights Commission on September 1, 2025 regarding the death of protester Vijay Ghogre, a resident of Takalgaon, Taluka Ahmedpur, District Latur, during the Maratha reservation agitation led by activist Manoj Jarange-Patil at Azad Maidan, Mumbai, on 30 August 2025, alleging negligence by the Maharashtra government.
