Nahan, June 14 -- Unseasonal rain, strong winds and hailstorms have devastated farmers in the Pachhad region of Sirmaur district. The changing weather on Friday evening and Saturday wreaked such havoc on the region's cash crops that tomato and capsicum crops standing in the fields in many villages were completely destroyed.
Farmers claim the losses could reach crores of rupees. The severe storm and hailstorm inflicted the most damage on tomato and capsicum crops in several areas of Pachhad, including Sirmauri Mandir, Dingri Sarjet, Bhailan, Dingri Dhini, Madhighat, Jayhar, Shadia, Shouti, Masaria, and Narg.
