Mumbai, July 13 -- The Maharashtra government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the families of three Warkaris who lost their lives after a tempo rammed into a group of pilgrims near Jejuri in Pune district's Purandar taluka while they were on their way to Pandharpur in Solapur district.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took serious note of the accident and declared that the families of the deceased would receive financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each. He further announced that the medical treatment of all injured pilgrims would be borne entirely by the state government.
