Pune, Sept. 14 -- A Ganesh idol sculpted by inmates of Yerawada Central Prison under the 'Preranapath' rehabilitation initiative was installed on Monday as part of the 38th Pune Festival.
The installation ceremony was held at 1030 hours and was performed by Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer Dr Abhijit Chaudhary and his wife, Dr Anushree Chaudhary. Vedmurti Pandit Dhananjay Ghate Guruji conducted the religious rituals.
The 'Preranapath' project aims to help inmates move away from crime by supporting their rehabilitation and facilitating their reintegration into mainstream society.
