Jalna, May 30 -- Senior NCP (SP) leader and former Maharashtra minister Rajesh Tope today dismissed speculation about his possible entry into the BJP, asserting that he would remain with the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) and continue to support party chief Sharad Pawar.

Rumours of Tope joining the BJP had gained traction amid heightened political activity surrounding elections to 17 seats of the Maharashtra Legislative Council from local authorities' constituencies. With only two days remaining for the filing of nomination papers, political manoeuvring has intensified across the state.
