Nagpur, March 16 -- In a massive fire that broke out in the early hours of Monday gutted at least five huts in the Sangam Chawl slum settlement located near the bus depot close to Yashwant Stadium in Nagpur, officials said.

The incident occurred at around 4 am when most residents were asleep. The blaze quickly spread through the congested cluster of huts, filling the area with thick smoke and flames.

Locals woke up to the smell of smoke and rushed out of their homes in panic, trying to ensure the safety of their families as the fire intensified.

On receiving information, fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations.
