Amravati, Aug. 13 -- : Fear gripped a tribal residential school in the Melghat forest region of Maharashtra's Amravati district after several girl students reportedly displayed unusual behaviour at night, prompting authorities to bring in health experts and counsellors to investigate the incident, officials said on Thursday.

The incident was reported about eight days ago at the Doma Tribal Ashram School, where around 15 to 16 girls were reportedly found laughing hysterically and subsequently crying during the midnight hours.

According to school officials, some of the girls claimed they could hear the sound of anklets and alleged that someone was standing outside the hostel window and calling them.
