Nashik, Nov. 4 -- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken strict action against sweet manufacturers allegedly compromising public health ahead of the festive season. During a special inspection drive conducted as part of its festival surveillance campaign, the FDA suspended the licences of five well-known sweet manufacturing establishments in Nashik city and district with immediate effect after detecting serious violations and unhygienic conditions.
The inspections reportedly revealed cockroach infestation and violations of Schedule 4 provisions under the Food Safety and Standards Regulations.
