Amravati, Aug. 28 -- : A 52-year-old farmer was killed in a tiger attack in Bhambora village of Morshi tehsil in Maharashtra's Amravati district, triggering panic among residents and renewed concerns over human-wildlife conflict in the region, officials said on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Charandas Wasudev Ikhe.
According to police, Ikhe's wife and son were working in their field in the morning, while the deceased was weeding cotton stalks in an adjacent field that he had taken on lease on Thursday when a tiger allegedly attacked him.
The animal grabbed him by the neck and dragged him nearly 200 feet towards a nearby nullah.
