Nagpur, May 9 -- The 8th edition of the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav (KKM) will commence on May 31, with this year's event featuring significantly fewer disciplines compared to the previous edition due to the prevailing summer heat.

While 65 events were organised across the city last year, the upcoming edition will feature competitions in only 18 disciplines.

Addressing a press conference here today, convenor Sandip Joshi said the decision to scale down the number of events was taken in view of the intense heat conditions in the region.

"Due to the peak summer and scorching heat, the organising committee decided to curtail this year's events.

However, all the events will be conducted next year in January 2027," Joshi said.
