Mumbai, Sept. 26 -- The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Mumbai Zonal Unit, has seized 9.40 kg of foreign-origin gold worth around Rs 14.81 crore from three passengers on their arrival from Dubai at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, officials said here today.
The three Indian passengers were intercepted in the early hours of September 23 with the help of the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Mumbai Airport Customs, following specific intelligence inputs.
During a thorough search of their baggage, officials found around 33.50 kg of food products containing gold powder.
