Mumbai, June 23 -- AIMIM corporator Sameer Ramzan Patel who has been disqualified by Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde after his caste certificate was declared invalid by the state appointed Caste Validity Committee, today alleged that despite his plea pending before the Bombay high court, the Mayor had made announcement of his disqualification.

"A hearing is scheduled on June 25, but the Mayor has gone ahead and announced the disqualification," said Patel.

He also said that the Mayor should have waited for the High Court's ruling before going ahead with the disqualification.
