Mumbai, June 29 -- Senior Congress MLA Amin Patel today opposed the proposed privatization of Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai's suburbs, claiming the move would adversely affect poor patients who depend on the facility for affordable treatment.
Participating in a debate in the Maharashtra Assembly, he urged the government to assure the House that Seven Hills Hospital would not be privatized. He demanded that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the state government jointly continue to operate the hospital and provide healthcare services there.
