Mumbai, June 5 -- The Congress here today officially announced that it has expelled two of its Legislative Council (Vidhan Parishad) candidates who withdrew their candidatures leading to a situation where ruling Mahayuti candidates managed to win unopposed.

Congress candidates Sahebrao Kamble, who was supposed to contest from the Yavatmal constituency, and Shailesh Agarwal, who was fielded from the Chandrapur constituency, withdrew their candidatures without notifying the Maharashtra Congress leadership, which led to their expulsion from the party.
