Nagpur/Pune, Oct. 3 -- The Congress on Saturday announced its nominees for three Maharashtra Legislative Council constituencies representing graduates and teachers, retaining two sitting members for the forthcoming elections.

According to a party statement, sitting MLC Abhijit Wanjari has been renominated from the Nagpur Division Graduates' constituency, while Jayant Dinkar Asagaonkar will seek re-election from the Pune Division Teachers' constituency.

For the Amravati Teachers' constituency, the party has chosen Aditi Pohare as its candidate, giving the ticket to a new face.

Elections to five Legislative Council seats, comprising three Graduates' and two Teachers' constituencies, are scheduled to be held on October 23.
