Nandurbar, July 18 -- A rare green chameleon-a lizard known for changing its colour-was spotted crossing the road in the Devgoi Ghat, located within the Satpura mountain ranges.

This creature is rarely seen because of its ability to blend seamlessly into the foliage by changing its colour. Its distinctive features include the ability to move its eyes independently in different directions and catch insects with a long, sticky tongue.

The reptile, which plays a vital role in maintaining the ecological food chain, is completely non-venomous and harmless. However, it is often killed out of ignorance, mistakenly believed to be a venomous creature.
