Mumbai, June 2 -- In a significant move aimed at providing relief to the agrarian sector, the Maharashtra Cabinet today officially approved the 'Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmafi Yojana', a comprehensive farm loan waiver scheme for benefit of approximately 56 lakh farmers across the state at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 25,000 crore.
The decision, which comes as a major relief to the state's farming community, will provide a waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh on crop loans that were outstanding as of September 30, 2025.
