Maha: BJP office-bearer arrested for creating fake 'Shalarth IDs' required for recruitment of Education Department staff

Nashik, July 28 -- In the 'Shalarth ID' scam that has become a talking point across the state, the Nashik Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested the prime mastermind-an educational institution owner and BJP office-bearer named Sanjay Garud-on Monday night from a farmhouse in Natepute, Solapur district.

The government has been defrauded of lakhs of rupees through the creation of fake "Shalarth IDs," which are mandatory for recruitment within the Maharashtra government's Education Department and for hiring teachers and staff in private aided schools.
